Our March Gift: Water.org

For most of us, water is something we take for granted in our day to day life. But for hundreds of millions of people around the world, access to clean water can’t be found or is hard to come by.

We are excited to partner with Water.org to bring life changing access to clean water.

Our March Gift: Water.org

Water. It’s a necessity for a healthy, clean life. It’s something we have access to multiple places in our home. We never have to step outside (unless we’re watering the grass or plants) to get the water we need. And we certainly don’t have to walk miles with buckets and jugs to get the water we’ll need for the day.

Your donation & support of DollarFund this month will go towards providing clean water to those in need! You are a part of something big and helping change the lives of people in need of water!

When was the last time you had to worry about where to get clean water? Have you ever had to worry about your water supply? For most of us, water is something we take for granted in our day to day life. But for over 700 million people around the world, access to clean water can’t be found or is hard to come by.

Enter Water.org — Water.org is a global nonprofit organization working to bring water and sanitation to the world. They want to make it safe, accessible, and cost-effective. Water.org helps people get access to safe water and sanitation through affordable financing, such as small loans. They give their everything every day to empower people in need with these life-changing resources – giving women hope, children health and families a bright future.

Today 771 million people — 1 in 10 — lack access to safe water at home. And 1.7 billion — 1 in 4 people — don’t have access to a toilet. The water crisis negatively impacts the health and livelihood of more than one-third of our global population. Water.org exist to change this.

There are several reasons why people may not have access to safe water. These include:⁣

1. Lack of infrastructure: In many parts of the world, there is a lack of infrastructure to deliver safe water to communities. This can include a lack of wells, pumps, pipes, and treatment facilities.⁣
2. Pollution: Water sources can become polluted by human waste, agricultural runoff, and industrial waste. This pollution can make the water unsafe to drink and can lead to the spread of disease.⁣
3. Poverty: People living in poverty may not have the resources to access safe water. They may have to rely on unsafe sources, such as rivers or ponds, which can be contaminated.⁣

The lack of access to safe water is a complex issue that requires a multifaceted approach to address. Solutions include investing in infrastructure, improving water treatment and distribution systems, addressing pollution, promoting water conservation, and empowering communities to manage their own water resources. Water.org is working to change this and give people around the world access to safe water.

52 million lives have been changed with safe water or sanitation through the work of water.org

We are proud to support them and the work they are doing! Your donation from this month will go towards giving access to water to those in need around the world
