Hunger is a huge issue all over the world. Did you know that 1 in 7 people are hungry. The World Health Organization considers food and nutrition security a top priority and basic human right. Without adequate food and nutrition, children are unable to reach their full development potential both physically and mentally. Nutrition deficiencies affect more than 2 billion people worldwide, causing a reduction in learning capabilities and livelihood development.

There are so many scary and shocking statistics across the globe when it comes to the amount of people that are hungry. Poor nutrition causes nearly half (45%) of deaths in children under five – 3.1 million children each year. One out of six children — roughly 100 million — in developing countries is underweight.  66 million hungry children attend school hungry and needing food.

It is our duty to come together, raise awareness and work to see hunger come to an end. DollarFund is excited to continue to partner with organizations that work towards feeding the hungry. If you know of any organizations that are working to feeding the hungry, we would love to hear about them. You can nominate any non-profit organizations you like that we should look at here.
